How Waymaker Transport collects, uses and protects personal information — written in plain English, and specific to what this business actually does.

Who we are
Waymaker Transport (ABN 41 791 482 529) is a freight and delivery business operating across South East Queensland and Northern New South Wales. In this policy, "we", "us" and "our" mean Waymaker Transport.
We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). If you have any question about this policy, contact our office on 0482 382 136 or hello@waymakertransport.com.au.
What we collect
When you get a quote or make a booking
Depending on the service, we collect: your name, your business name, your email address, your phone number, the pickup and delivery suburbs and street addresses, the dates and times you need, a description of what is being moved, and any access notes you give us.
About the person receiving a delivery
If you book a delivery to someone else, we collect that person's name, phone number, email address, delivery address and any access instructions — from you, not from them. We use those details only to make the delivery and to keep them informed about it.
If a delivery is coming to you and you did not give us your details yourself, the sender did. You can contact us at any time to ask what we hold, to correct it, or to ask us to stop contacting you.
When you pay
We never see or store your card number. Card details are entered directly into a secure form hosted by our payment provider, Airwallex, and go straight to them. What we keep is the amount, a payment reference, and whether the payment succeeded.
Where we place a hold on a card rather than charging it, the funds are reserved by your bank and are not taken until your job is on the truck.
Automatically, when you visit the site
Our website and its advertising tools collect your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you visit and how you arrived. This is standard web activity data and we use it to understand which services people are looking for and whether our advertising is working.
What we don't collect
We do not collect sensitive information — health, racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, religious beliefs, sexual orientation, criminal record or similar. Please don't send it to us.
Why we collect it
- To calculate a quote and tell you what a job will cost
- To carry out the delivery, including getting to the right address at the right time
- To keep you and your recipient updated, including tracking links and proof of delivery
- To take payment and issue receipts and invoices
- To contact you about your booking, or to follow up an enquiry
- To meet our record-keeping, tax, insurance and chain-of-responsibility obligations
- To measure whether our advertising is working
Who we share it with
We do not sell personal information, and we never will. We share it only with the service providers that make the job happen:
| Who | What they receive | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Netlify | Everything you submit through a form on this site | Hosts our website and stores form submissions |
| Airwallex | Your card details, name and the payment amount | Processes card payments. Card numbers go to them, never to us |
| Detrack | Names, addresses, phone numbers, emails and job details | Runs our dispatch, driver app, live tracking and proof of delivery |
| Pickup and delivery addresses; website activity data | Calculates road distances for quoting, provides fonts, measures our advertising, and measures how the site is used (Google Analytics) | |
| Meta (Facebook) | Website activity data | Measures whether our Facebook advertising leads to quotes and bookings (Meta Pixel) |
We may also disclose personal information to our insurer if there is a claim, to our accountant, or where the law requires it.
Overseas
Some of these providers store or process data outside Australia. By using this site or booking with us, you consent to that disclosure. We choose established providers, but we cannot guarantee that overseas recipients are bound by the Australian Privacy Principles.
Cookies and advertising
We use Google Ads and Meta (Facebook) advertising to advertise this business and to measure whether those ads lead to enquiries. Both use cookies to recognise a return visit. Neither tells us who you are, and we do not send your name, phone number, email address or the addresses you type into a quote to either of them — only that a price was shown or a booking was made, and the amount.
We also use Google Analytics to see how the site is used — which pages people read, and how far they get through a quote before they stop. We do not send your name, phone number, email address or the addresses you type into a quote to Google Analytics. It tells us that a quote was viewed, not who viewed it.
You can turn this off. Google's own controls are at myadcenter.google.com, Meta's are under Settings → Ads in your Facebook account, and any browser lets you block or delete cookies. Blocking them will not stop you using the site, getting a quote or making a booking.
How we keep it safe
Our site is served over an encrypted connection. Card data never touches our systems. Access to booking and customer information is limited to the people who need it to do the job. Our providers hold their own security certifications.
No system is perfect. If a data breach happened that was likely to cause you serious harm, we would tell you and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
How long we keep it
We keep booking and payment records for seven years, which is what our tax and business record-keeping obligations require. Enquiries that never became jobs are kept for two years, then deleted. You can ask us to delete your information sooner and we will, unless we are legally required to keep it.
Getting access, or correcting something
You can ask us what personal information we hold about you and we will tell you, usually within 30 days and at no charge. If something is wrong, tell us and we will fix it. Just call or email — there's no form to fill in.
If you're not happy
Contact our office first on 0482 382 136 or hello@waymakertransport.com.au. We will respond within 30 days.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle personal information, we will update this page and change the date at the top. The current version always lives at waymakertransport.com.au/privacy.html.
